PRESS: Lia Halloran Named 2020-2021 C.O.L.A. Master Art Fellow

As a C.O.L.A. Fellow, Halloran will be awarded a $10,000 grant to produce a new body of work that will be premiered by the City of Los Angeles in Spring 2021. The 2020/21 C.O.L.A. Master Artist Fellows in literary, performing, and visual arts are: Neel Agrawal, Noel Alumit, Edgar Arceneaux, Maura Brewer, Nao Bustamante, Jedediah, Caesar, Neha Choksi, Michael Datcher, Sarah Elgart, Lia Halloran, Phung Huynh, Farrah Karapetian, Ruben Ochoa, and Umar Rashid.

Each of these grant applicants demonstrated an exemplary career of professional public presentations for more than 15 years centered in the LA region. In addition, these artists are field-leaders, respected by their peers because of the ongoing trajectories of their creativity as well as other contributions to the community. These grantees were chosen in several review-rounds by a set of multi-disciplinary peer panelists: one curator from a prestigious local art museum, one international curator, one director of a non-profit art gallery, a regional performing arts presenter, and three past COLA fellowship recipients.
